Growing Up on Set

I spent more than 10 years working across film, television, commercials, short films, and other productions. Growing up on set gave me the opportunity to experience the entertainment industry firsthand and see everything that goes into bringing a production to life.

Being a child actor meant learning how to adapt quickly. Every production brought a new cast, crew, environment, and set of expectations. Long days, sometimes 14+ hours, required patience and focus, while working alongside so many different people taught me the importance of being prepared, professional, and ready when it was time to step in.

Some of my favorite memories happened between takes. I loved watching the different departments work together and seeing how hundreds of individual details eventually became one finished scene. Over the years, I gained an appreciation not only for performing, but for the teamwork and creativity happening on both sides of the camera.

1. It's Not Always Glamorous

Being on set can mean early mornings, long days, and hours of waiting. What happens behind the camera looks very different from the finished product.

2. The Acting World is Small

Over the years, I began seeing familiar faces across different sets and productions. I learned how much relationships, reputation, and professionalism matter.

3. Breaking In Is the Hard Part

There are so many talented people trying to make it in entertainment. Getting the opportunity can be harder than doing the job itself. I learned the importance of persistence, connections, and continuing to show up in face of rejection.
